Former Nigerian midfielder, Nduka Ugbade has revealed that the appointment of Jose Peseiro as Super Eagles new head coach won’t distract Austine Eguavoen’s preparation of the team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that the Portuguese tactician was appointed on Wednesday following the sack of Gernot Rohr last month.
In an interview with Brila FM, Ugbade said that Peseiro’s appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation few days to the AFCON won’t be a distraction to Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
He also said the imminent appointment is in line with standard practice where a coach is appointed and handed opportunity to observe the team ahead of his actual takeover time which he feels will be a big advantage to the incoming Portuguese manager.
