Coach Djamel Belmadi has released his 28-man final squad for the 2021 African Cup of Nations scheduled to begin in Cameroon next year.

The squad released by Belmadi will be captained by Manchester City attacker, Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez is one of the 15 players from the squad that won the last edition hosted by Egypt in 2019, and has made a return to the team for the delayed 2021 edition, where Algeria compete in Group E against Equatorial Guinea, the Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.

Algeria begin the defence of their crown against Sierra Leone on Jan. 11 in Douala.
