The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has appointed South African referee, Victor Gomes for the AFCON final showdown between Senegal and Egypt.
The final is billed to hold at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon.
In a circular released by the continent’s football body, Gomes will officiate the final tie while Moroccan, Redouane Jiyed will take charge of the third placed tie between Burkina Faso and Cameroon.
Victor Gomez who will become the first South African referee to officiate an AFCON final and
will be assisted by compatriot Zakhele Siwela and Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane.
Gomes is a PSL referee since 2008, Gomes was voted PSL Referee of the Season in 2012–13 and 2017–18 and has been an international referee since 2011.
