Zanetti backs Okereke to become top player

Venezia’s Nigerian forward, David Okereke, has been backed to become a top player by his manager, Paolo Zanetti.

The 24-year old striker since he joined the SerieA side on loan from Club Brugge, has discovered a brilliant form, scoring four goals and registering one assist for the newly promoted Venezia side.

Zanetti in a chat with Corriere del Veneto said he’s satisfied with the Nigerian forward and believes, his best is yet to come.

“He (Okereke) doesn’t even know how strong he is.

“A few days ago, he came to talk to me in the locker room and asked me if I was satisfied with him. He told me that he had caught my eye and that he thought I was not happy with how he was playing.

“I think he is not yet fully aware of the qualities he possesses. He is a player who has everything to become a superstar: he has strength, speed, and technique; if he attacks space, he becomes devastating.” He said.
