Willy Caballero Joins Southampton On Short Term Deal
Former Chelsea and Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero has joined Southampton on a short term deal, according to report.
Following the Saints goalkeeping position crisis with both senior keepers Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy out injured, there’s is an urgent need for the club to sign a replacement.
The 40 year old Argentine has been without a club since leaving Chelsea in summer and has been training with AFC Wimbledon in the lower league to keep fit.
He joins Southampton who are to visit Arsenal on Saturday until January 5, while they await the recovery of their top two goalkeepers who are currently injured.
Southampton have not been convincing enough in the Premier League, but they will hope to pick up maximum point against Arsenal on Saturday in the Premier League.
