Tosin Adarabioyo has spoken about the footballers who inspired him as a kid, and two Chelsea legends made the list – www.isagoal.com reports.
The London-born defender sat down with Chelsea’s official website where he was asked about his earliest role models in football.
He smiled and admitted, “When I was young I had a few role models, to be honest. Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, I loved Didier Drogba as well.”
The 27-year-old began his professional journey with Manchester City before spending time at Fulham, and later secured a free transfer move to Chelsea in 2024.
Since joining the Blues, Adarabioyo has impressed manager Enzo Maresca with five goals and one assist across 43 appearances in all competitions.
His physical presence and consistency have made him a trusted figure, especially with Levi Colwill sidelined due to injury.
Although capped at youth level for England, he still qualifies to represent Nigeria at senior level and has yet to decide on his international future.
Nigeria’s coach Eric Chelle may turn to Adarabioyo as the Super Eagles look to reinforce their defense during World Cup qualifying and the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Veteran defender William Troost-Ekong approaching the end of his international career adds urgency to Nigeria’s need for fresh defensive options.
