Chelsea defender, Trevoh Chalobah, has named teammate, Thiago Silva, as his ‘idol’ in football.
According to Chalobah, he wants to follow in the footsteps of Silva, who has so far had a successful career.
The 22-year-old played alongside Silva in a three-man defence as Chelsea defeated Leicester City 3-0 in a Premier League tie on Saturday.
Chalobah, who made his seventh Premier League appearance of the season for Chelsea against Leicester over the weekend, also expressed his gratitude for sharing the pitch and training sessions with the Brazilian international.
“Thiago Silva was one of my idols growing up as a kid, and with how successful he’s been,” Chalobah told Chelsea’s official website ahead of their Champions League tie with Juventus on Tuesday.
“It is great sharing the pitch and training sessions with him. For me as a young player, he is someone I need to look at for where I want to be and where I want to go.”
Chalobah will now hope to play again for Chelsea when they host Juventus at Stamford Bridge.
