Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro can walk out of his job as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria on the basis of unpaid wages.
Peseiro was appointed this year after the failure of the senior national team of Nigeria to make it to the World Cup and so far he has picked up two wins in his first two competitive games in charge of the team.
He has however lost three out of the four friendly games he has handled the team.
With the postponement of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations following the postponement of the tournament, the coach is expected to be on the sideline when they take on his country Portugal in an international friendly game in November.
He can however walk out on his role if he so desires as per FIFA laws he can terminate his deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as he has gone the stipulated length of three months without pay.
For now it’s not an option he is considering according to one of his representatives.
” We know by the law he can walk away and still get paid but it’s not an option for now but for how long I don’t know.
“There is even some confusion on who is responsible for his salary. We were told at the start that the Nigerian government will be responsible for it but recently we are hearing something different”, he told OwngoalNigeria.com.
” There is a new NFF president who is yet to properly settle down. So there is time to have that talk on the way forward. It’s been over three months since he got paid.”
