Super Eagles player to face disciplinary action after going awol

Spain based Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali is set to face a disciplinary action from his Huesca club side after failing to return to the club since Nigeria crashed out of the AFCON in Cameroon.

Nwakali who was handed his competitive and AFCON debuts for the Super Eagles in Cameroon, was said to haven’t return to the club nine days after Nigeria exited the tournament.

His Spanish clubside however, is said to be running out of patience already and the 23-year old could be facing a disciplinary action when he eventually returns to the club.

“The Huesca footballer is nine days late and is the only Nigerian player who has not returned to his team,” the website wrote.

“Kelechi Nwakali has done his thing again,”

“The Nigerian footballer went with his team to play in the African Cup after playing with Huesca against Girona on January 2.”

The Spanish publication added that Huesca have reportedly had enough of Nwakali’s indiscipline and they were close to selling him to fellow La Liga Smartbank club Burgos on transfer deadline day before the deal collapsed.”

“A month later, after four games with his national team (the last on January 23), he has still not returned and the patience of the club from Huesca has run out. On the last day of the market they tried to transfer him to Burgos, but the operation went to waste due to the player’s representatives in the last moments of the market and now they are waiting for him in El Alcoraz with a fine.”

“The 23-year-old midfielder is a repeat offender since at the start of the course he also delayed his arrival. The player and his representatives then tried and have sought a way out for the player in this market, but they have not obtained the freedom letter that Nwakali was looking for.”

“The medium that came from Arsenal three seasons ago has rejected the contract extension proposals offered by Huesca and the Huesca, tired of his indiscipline, tried to transfer the last months of the contract to Burgos, but the documentation could not be completed due to player’s fault.”
