The new head coach of the Super Eagles Jose Peseiro is set for talks with the Nigeria Football Federation for a new deal, according to reports.
Peseiro penned a one-year contract as Nigeria’s Coach, which would have kept him on the job until the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
However, with the Confederation of African Football postponing the AFCON by a further twelve months, it became necessary to renegotiate the deal.

The new Super Eagles foreign coach is now expected to sign a new one-year that will keep him in charge of the team until 2024.
Peseiro got his reign as the three-time African Champions Coach off with a defeat to Mexico and Ecuador, but the team bounced back to beat Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Nigeria currently top their qualifying Group with six maximum points and the squad will converge again in September for the double-header against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
