Tottenham Hotspur has signed French winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley for an undisclosed fee, as announced on Friday on the club’s official website.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract with the north London club.
Odobert caught Tottenham’s eye following an impressive debut campaign in England with Burnley.
During his time at Burnley, he made 34 appearances and scored five goals including the one against Chelsea in October which made him Burnley’s youngest Premier League goalscorer.
In a statement, Tottenham expressed their excitement about the acquisition: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Wilson Odobert from Burnley, subject to formalities.”
The young winger has committed to a contract that extends until 2029 and will don the number 28 jersey.
Fans of Tottenham Hotspur could see Wilson Odobert make his debut in their Premier League opener at Leicester on Monday.
