Barcelona forward Sergio Aguero is set to announce his retirement from football in a special ceremony on Wednesday, after struggling with heart problem against Alaves.
The Argentine was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia after experiencing chest pain 41 minutes into his debut for Barcelona last month.
The 33 year was initially told to rest for the three months, but is now planning to step away from football permanently.
Aguero joined the Blaugrana on a free transfer last summer from City, but couldn’t carry on during his debut for Barcelona when he experienced chest pains against Alaves.
The Argentine spent the next two days in hospital and was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia after undergoing several tests.
With the severity of his condition great than first thought, the Argentine has now confirmed he will announce his retirement on Wednesday.
