Ronaldinho has confirmed that his 17-year-old son, Joao de Assis Moreira, has successfully earned himself a contract with Barcelona after a successful trial.
Mendes had previously tried to hide his identity from Cruzeiro during a trial back in 2018, but still managed to impress scouts and earn himself an invitation to Barcelona’s U19s despite having his contract with them terminated in Belo Horizonte.
After a somewhat rocky start, Mendes flourished and earned himself the deal.
Ronaldinho spoke about the news to Spanish publication Marca saying “Yes he is coming now… With the arrival of my son at Barca I’ll be more present than ever”.
His agent Roberto de Assis was in contact with La Porta discussing the transfer and it seems they can offer Mendes the chance to live up to their father’s reputation as one of the world’s best players.
