Under fire Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has said that the national team under his watch has performed incredibly well in 2021, as such, players should not be criticized in the media and in public.

This is amidst uncertainties hovering around his contract crisis with the NFF as the Eagles boss.

The Super Eagles in 2021 played a total of eight matches, recorded one loss and a draw against Central African Republic and Cape Verde respectively.

Rohr, 68, stated this in a chat with NationSport.

“We played eight qualifiers including two for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the remaining six for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.”

“Altogether, we had six victories, one draw and one defeat. But don’t forget we won all the four away games.”

“The loss to CAR in Lagos an hold up but we quickly corrected the mistake three days later on a good pitch.”
