Real Madrid have confirmed that midfielder Dani Ceballos will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after suffering a grade III sprain in his right ankle during the match against Real Betis.

The injury, which affects the ligaments, was detailed in a medical report released by the club.

According to the official statement by Real Madrid, “Following tests carried out today on our player Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a grade III sprain affecting the ligaments in his right ankle. Pending evolution.”

Based on this assessment, Ceballos is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, depending on his recovery progress.

This setback comes at an unpleasant time for Ceballos, who was trying to make a mark in his first starting appearance of the season.

His injury will make it more challenging for him to regain the trust of the coaching staff and secure regular playing time upon his return.

Real Madrid are already struggling with midfield depth due to injuries to key players Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga.

Ceballos’ absence further complicates the situation, as the team faces a crucial period ahead.

Fortunately, the FIFA international break provides a two-week window for the team to recover without the pressure of immediate matches.

Earlier in the season, Ceballos had considered leaving Real Madrid due to limited playing time.

Despite offers, no team matched Real Madrid’s asking price, leading him to stay.

Just days after the transfer window closed, manager Carlo Ancelotti showed his faith by including Ceballos in the starting lineup against Betis, describing him as “very important.”
