Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has suggested that only Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) can afford to buy Nigerian star Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has been linked with several top teams, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and PSG.
However, De Laurentiis believes that PSG is the only club capable of meeting his €200 million asking price.
“The only club that could afford Victor Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain. If [PSG president] Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to send in a bid around €200m (£170m/$220m), we wait and we see what happens. I personally think that Victor will stay here,” he told Sport Mediaset.
Despite the interest from other clubs, De Laurentiis believes that Osimhen will stay at Napoli.
This news comes as a blow to Manchester United, who have been looking to sign a new striker, with Harry Kane being their preferred option.
However, Tottenham has been unwilling to let Kane leave, and it seems that United may face a similar obstacle in their pursuit of Osimhen.
