Juventus are reportedly ‘furious’ with Paul Pogba and considering releasing the star from his £28million contract after a year.
The move, heralded by many as a homecoming for the Frenchman who had spent the 2012-2016 seasons in Turin, has not been going well chronically due to injuries and now behaviour on and off the pitch.
Pogba has failed to make an appearance since April 2020, being side-lined by a serious knee injury that required surgery followed by a hip flexor issue after taking up the bench during Sunday’s shock 2-0 home defeat by Monza.
Juventus’ financial worries further influenced their decision-making, with Maurizio Sarri and Matthijs De Ligt fighting hard against potential deduction points due to historic false accounting allegations.
Moreover, supporter unrest at Pogba’s entertaining antics on Instagram – posting pictures of himself skiing or dancing around his living room while out injured – have only compounded their woes over this deal gone wrong.
