Crystal Palace is preparing to send young goalkeeper Owen Goodman on loan to League One side Huddersfield Town, IsaGoal can report.
According to Football Insider, the Premier League club has agreed on a deal that will see the 21-year-old shot-stopper continue his development away from Selhurst Park.
Goodman, who was invited to the Nigeria Flying Eagles training camp in 2023, is returning from an excellent season with AFC Wimbledon.
He played a huge part in AFC Wimbledon’s promotion campaign, securing an incredible 25 clean sheets in 53 games across all competitions last season.
Speaking about his time at Wimbledon, Goodman said, “It was a great experience and I gave everything for the team. I’m proud of what we achieved.”
The young goalkeeper holds eligibility to represent England, Canada, or Nigeria at the international level, drawing interest from clubs like Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers, AFC Wimbledon, and Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield have now won the race to sign him, with his medical expected to take place in the coming days.
Crystal Palace recently announced the signing of Argentina international Walter Benítez from PSV Eindhoven, who will officially join the team on July 1.
Goodman, a product of the Crystal Palace academy, has been on the bench for four Premier League matches but is still waiting for his senior debut.
