Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen scored a brace when his side faced off with Hellas Verona on Sunday.
The Super Eagles attacker scored in the 14th and 71st minute to emerge Napoli’s top scorer this season with nine Serie A goals and thirteen in all competitions.
Following the brace he scored at Verona, Osimhen is now the first African in the history of the Serie A to score a brace at Verona, according to Tutto Napoli.
Osimhen’s performance has been rated in superlatives as he continues to help Napoli in their title hunt.
The Partenopei currently sit second on the log, three points behind leaders AC Milan and one ahead of third-placed Inter Milan, although the Nerazzurri have a game in hand.
Osimhen has grown into one of Serie A’s best marksmen, with his overall game contributing to Napoli’s efforts on top of the table.
The 22-year-old attacker is expected to lead the line for Nigeria when they face Ghana at the Qatar 2022 World Cup Playoffs.
