Ojo Olorunleke named captain of Enyimba

Ojo Olorunleke, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, has been appointed as the new captain of Enyimba, the Nigeria Premier League champions.

This decision was made after the departure of former captain John Noble, whose contract expired.

Olorunleke joined Enyimba in September 2021 from local rivals Abia Warriors.

Despite facing tough competition from Noble and Djeri Bassa, the 27-year-old secured the position of the club’s number one goalkeeper.

Somiari Alalibo, a centre-back, was named as the vice-captain. Enyimba’s 2023/24 season will kick off with a CAF Champions League preliminary match against Al Ahli Benghazi on August 18.
