Odegaard in Doubt for North London Derby After Ankle Injury, Arsenal Await MRI Results

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is set to undergo a scan on his ankle after picking up an injury during Norway’s 2-1 Nations League win over Austria.

The 25-year-old midfielder was hurt following a seemingly innocuous challenge with Austria’s Christoph Baumgartner around the 60-minute mark.

Odegaard was left clutching his left ankle in pain and was helped off the field in tears by teammate Erling Haaland.

This injury is a concern for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who is already dealing with the absence of Declan Rice due to suspension ahead of this weekend’s crucial north London derby against Tottenham.

Odegaard was spotted on crutches as he boarded a private jet back to London on Tuesday morning.

Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand, confirmed that Odegaard would undergo an MRI in London to determine the severity of the injury.

“He is on his way to London and will have an MRI later today,” Sand told Norwegian media.

While there is no immediate prognosis, Sand described the injury as a “strong overstepping,” and said they will wait for Arsenal’s medical team to provide further details.

Arsenal now face an anxious wait to see if their captain will be fit for a critical stretch of games, including the north London derby and their upcoming Champions League opener.
