Martin Odegaard, the current captain of Arsenal FC, has spoken fondly about the impact Cristiano Ronaldo had on him when he joined Real Madrid at just 16 years old.
He said that the Al-Nassr star was one of three players – alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos – who helped him settle in by speaking to him in English, taking care of him and making him feel welcome.
Odegaard admits that when he first joined Real Madrid, all he could think about was how his new teammates would treat this young Norwegian who couldn’t speak any Spanish.
Thankfully, they were incredibly kind and provided invaluable assistance as he made the transition to life in Spain.
