Remo Stars recorded a convincing away win in the 2021-22 NPFL season opener against MFM FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan on Friday.

The Church Boys have to play their home game away from home as the match which was supposed to take place at the Agege Township Stadium was moved to Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Two second half goals secured the first away win of the season for the Sky Blue Stars as they seem to begin the fight for an impressive NPFL return right from the early stages of the season.

The hosts started strongly, they were repellant enough to contain the threats from the newly promoted Remo Stars which resulted into a goalless first forty-five.

When the second half began, MFM FC intensified their efforts to getting the first goal but a Qudus Akanni’s strike in the fifty-sixth minute kick-started a frustrating evening for MFM.

Just as the host was searching for an equalizer, Andy Okpe sealed the game and made it 0-2 in favour of Remo Stars and ensured a maximum point for the newly-promoted side as well as their first win against The Olukoya Boys in the NPFL having lost to them on three occasions by a lone goal.
