The Promise Keepers are coming on the heels of a morale-boosting away win against Niger Tornadoes on match-day nine, and will be gunning for their fifth victory of the season when they march out against 8th placed Afonja Warriors.

Speaking ahead of the game, coach Kennedy Boboye encouraged his players to go all out for victory on Wednesday. “With the away win we got in Abuja, we really need to build on that momentum and ensure we don’t drop any more points at home. Currently we are five points behind joint leaders, and we need to keep pushing.

“We know that Kwara United will be coming here with a game plan, and we need to up our game and approach the match with a positive mindset, knowing that victory will improve our standing on the table”, said Boboye.

In the ten previous meetings between the two teams, Akwa United have recorded four wins, three draws and three loses.

The crucial game is billed to kick-off at four O’clock in the afternoon at the Nest of Champions.
