Guardiola

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City football club, recently alleged that up to nine clubs had written letters to the Premier League asking for his team to be banned.

His comments came in response to the large amount of money Chelsea FC had spent on new players in the January transfer window – a figure surpassing €600 million.

Guardiola noted that the hefty expenditure was part of larger regulations and policies in order for successful teams to maintain their good players, adding that due to City being only fifth in net spend among the other clubs, a letter calling for its ban had been sent by eight or nine teams.
