Napoli’s caretaker coach, Francesco Calzona, has praised the performance of Victor Osimhen, stating that the Nigerian forward is gradually reaching his peak form.
Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Osimhen has been consistently finding the back of the net for the reigning Serie A champions.
In his last three matches, the 25-year-old has scored five goals, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess.
However, in Napoli’s recent 2-1 victory over Juventus, Osimhen had his late penalty saved by Wojciech Szczesny. Fortunately, Giancomo Raspadori capitalized on the rebound to secure all three points for Napoli.
Calzona emphasized the importance of Osimhen to the team, along with another key player, Kvaratskhelia. Despite facing challenging moments this season, both players are now approaching their usual levels of performance.
