Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis was questioned on Wednesday as part of an investigation into the deal that brought Victor Osimhen to the club.
In 2020, Napoli signed Osimhen from Ligue 1 club Lille in a deal valued at €76 million.
As part of the deal, four Napoli players also joined Lille, with a total market value of around €20 million.
Investigators have alleged that the market values of the players involved in the deal were inflated to help Napoli’s books.
This has led to a probe into false accounting, and De Laurentiis was subjected to around 90 minutes of questioning by Deputy Prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini at the FIGC prosecutor’s office in Rome.
The investigation aims to determine whether there was any wrongdoing in the transfer deal and whether false accounting practices were employed.
De Laurentiis arrived at the prosecutor’s office accompanied by his lawyer, Fabio Fulgeri, and cooperated with the authorities during the questioning.
