Moses Simon has officially signed with Paris FC, becoming the first Nigerian male footballer to join the club — a milestone moment in his impressive career, IsaGoal can report.
The deal, first revealed by isagoal.com, ends Simon’s six-year stay at FC Nantes, where he became a fan favorite with 37 goals and 42 assists in 201 matches.
Paris FC announced the signing across their social platforms, saying, “The Nigerian winger, with nearly 180 Ligue 1 matches under his belt, joins Paris FC until 2028.”
Simon, 29, comes off a standout season where he tallied eight goals and 10 assists in 32 Ligue 1 matches — his best campaign yet.
Nantes gave him a warm farewell: “FC Nantes wishes Moses all the best in his future career and warmly thanks him for his loyalty to the Club.”
Simon shared his feelings in an emotional post, writing, “6 seasons giving it my all with heart ❤️ Sprints, crosses, thrills… and memories etched in. Thank you FC Nantes, thank you Beaujoire. I leave with pride and a piece of this club in my heart.”
The €7 million deal sees him earning €75,000 per week — nearly twice his previous salary.
Simon is expected to bring veteran leadership and attacking flair to a newly promoted Paris FC side aiming to make a strong Ligue 1 debut.
He joins the ranks of Nigerians leaving their mark in European football, following in the footsteps of Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie, who previously played for the women’s team.
