Man City faces unexpected competition from Tottenham for £50m target

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering making a move for Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, who is also a key target for Manchester City.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been focused on strengthening the team’s defence this summer but now wants to bring in attacking players to compensate for the potential departure of Harry Kane.

Doku, who scored seven goals and made four assists in 35 appearances for Rennes last season, is only 21 years old and is expected to improve as he gains more experience.

While Manchester City is currently the favourites to sign the Belgium international, West Ham is also interested, which could lead to a bidding war in the coming weeks.

Doku is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, and Tottenham’s interest could provide them with an opportunity to secure his signature.

With quality players like Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski already in their winger options, Doku could be an excellent long-term investment for Spurs.
