Scotland and Manchester United midfielder McTominay, has been ruled out of his country’s 2022 World Cup qualifier away to Moldova on Friday due to illness.

Steve Clarke, Scotland gaffer confirmed that the United’s midfielder has been sent home from their camp training in Spain in order to take care of the throat virus his suffering from.

McTominay could rejoin the squad this weekend ahead of their Monday’s home qualifier against Denmark if he’s confirmed okay to return.

The coach of the team Clarke while speaking with the media, said, “Almost everyone is good.”

“Unfortunately, McTominay has picked a bit of a throat virus so we have sent him home to rest and recuperate, hopefully he join us again at the weekend.”

With Scotland chances of a playoff spot at stake in Group F, their fans will hope to see them throw everything at the opportunity of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

While the playoff draw is slated for November 26 in Zurich, Scotland most make sure they pick all three point away in Moldova having beaten them at Hempden Park in September.
