According to The Guardian, the tactician is already been asked about potential transfers in January and United’s board reckon he would be a great coach for Cristiano Ronaldo after working well with Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.

Meanwhile, Michael Carrick will lead the Red Devils in tonight’s Champions League clash against Villarreal in Spain but Valverde is now waiting in the wings to take charge of the United team untill the club gets a permanent manager.

The Spaniard having managed Athletic Bilbao for four years was in charge of Barca between 2017 and 2020, winning two LaLiga titles and one Copa del Rey.
