Manchester United have reportedly identified Victor Osimhen as their leading summer target, however, they are ‘not willing to pay Napoli’s asking price’ for the 24-year-old Nigerian forward.
Osimhen has been in exceptional form during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 21 goals and providing four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, including 19 successions in Serie A and two throughout the Champions League; seeing Napoli sitting 15 points clear at top of the Italian league standings and a strong position to reach the quarter-finals of Europe’s premium club competition.
With this being said, Man United value Osimhen at €100m (£88m), whilst his Italian employers want €150m (£132m).
The Red Devils also remain unsure on their plans for the summer transfer window due to ownership rumours and speculation.
Additionally, other Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of Osimhen, have expressed serious interest for his signature.
Although, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that he is not for sale under any circumstances.
