Lille Make Final Call on Chuba Akpom’s Future

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Chuba Akpom’s brief time in Ligue 1 with Lille has come to an end. The French club has decided not to make his move from Ajax permanent, despite a late surge in form.

According to reports, Akpom had been gaining more minutes in recent weeks, even scoring in Lille’s final match of the season — a 2-1 win against Reims. His increased involvement sparked rumors that he might replace outgoing striker Jonathan David this summer.

However, Lille released their official list of departing players shortly after the final whistle, and Akpom’s name was among them. Also leaving the club are Jonathan David, Angel Gomes, Remy Cabella, Mitchell Bakker, and Samuel Umtiti.

“The Nigerian striker even scored against Reims in their final game of the season,” the report noted.

What’s Next for Akpom?

The 29-year-old forward will return to Ajax, where he remains under contract until 2028. Yet his future in Amsterdam remains uncertain. Akpom reportedly has not settled well at the Dutch club, and Ajax could be open to offers if the right bid comes in.

At the moment, no club has publicly expressed interest in signing him. Still, given his recent performances and potential availability, transfer developments could unfold in the coming weeks.

Akpom remains eligible to represent Nigeria at international level, although he has yet to receive a call-up to the Super Eagles.
