Leicester City have sacked manager Steve Cooper after just five months in charge.
This decision was made official on Sunday afternoon, following a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.
Cooper replaced Enzo Maresca in June and he struggled to turn around the club’s fortunes, leaving Leicester two points above the relegation zone with just two wins in 12 Premier League matches this season.
The club confirmed that assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach Steve Rands have also left their roles.
In a statement, Leicester thanked Cooper, Tate, and Rands for their contributions during their time at the club and wished them well for the future.
With the managerial change, Leicester have appointed Ben Dawson to oversee first-team training, with support from coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes.
The club is now focused on finding a permanent replacement for Cooper and aims to complete the appointment as quickly as possible.
