According to a report in The Daily Mail, Leandro Trossard is poised to sign for Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window with a weekly salary of £90,000.
This would mean he earns more than current Gunner Bukayo Saka, who’s on £70,000 per week, and the same as Gabriel Martinelli.
Reports suggest that the 28-year-old Belgian international winger will cost Arsenal £27 million and undergo a medical before confirmation.
The news follows after Mykhailo Mudryk had been targeted by Arsenal but subsequently snapped up by Chelsea.
Trossard has had much experience playing in the Premier League with Brighton, meaning he shouldn’t have any issues making an immediate impact at his new club.
With Arsenal currently in great form as potential league champions, they are certainly hoping that the signing of Trossard goes ahead quickly and he can shortly begin providing competition to Saka and Martinelli over short-term periods.
