Klopp provides update on Darwin Nunez injury ahead of Real Madrid clash

Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Darwin Nunez’s injury ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League collision with Real Madrid.

The Uruguayan forward was forced off in the win against Newcastle after he picked up a shoulder issue from a challenge with Kieran Trippier.

At the post-match press conference, Klopp said “The bad news is Darwin has something on his shoulder. We will see.”

Today he spoke about the chances of him playing, saying “There is a chance. We have to see how he is today and then make a decision”.

If he does play it would be desperately exciting for him as since returning from his long term injury, he opened the scoring at St James’ Park before Cody Gakpo double their lead shortly after.

Unfortunately, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz and Thiago Alcantara all remain out until the end of March or mid-March respectively.
