Jurgen Klopp frustrated by ‘clear mistakes’ in loss to Bournemouth

Jurgen Klopp was left scratching his head after Liverpool were defeated 1-0 at Bournemouth, whose win served as a relief for the south coast side who had been struggling against relegation in recent months.

It was Philip Billing’s sixth goal of the season that ultimately won them all three points in a match where the Reds failed to produce any significant attacking threat.

Mo Salah’s shanked penalty kick in the second half spelled out a performance from Liverpool that Klopp described as “never really our game”.

He added, “We were dominant in the first half but mostly we put ball in at the wrong moment against a compact side.”

Cody Gakpo nearly snatched an equaliser for Liverpool in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough and their inconsistent form seemed to take another dip.

However, Klopp is hoping this defeat is only a minor setback rather than an indication of further bad form to come.
