FIFA Ranking: Nigeria ends 2021 in 36th position

World’s football governing body (FIFA), on Thursday, released the latest FIFA ranking with Nigeria ending the year on the 36th spot and fifth in Africa.

The ranking which was published on FIFA’s official website had the three time African champions stay on the 36th position for the third month running despite picking the playoff ticket of the 2022 World cup qualifiers.

Senegal is still the highest ranked African side, and they sit 20th, Morocco also retains the 28th place while 2019 AFCON champions, Algeria occupies the 29th spot and Tunisia 30th.

Nigeria’s next competitive game will be at the AFCON 2021 against Pharaohs of Egypt who are placed on the 45th spot in the world and sixth in Africa.
