Richarlison’s breathtaking scissors kick in their match against Serbia has been selected as the best goal of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The goal by the Tottenham forward sealed a 2-0 victory for the South American team in the 73rd minute of their tournament debut and his effort has been picked by fans as the finest goal of Qatar 2022, according to FIFA.

Richarlison was about 12 yards from the goal and used his first touch to flip the ball up in the air after Vinicius Jr.’s superb outside foot cross from the left side reached him. The former Everton player then twisted as the ball hit the ground and produced a flawless volley while his body was in the air.

The ensuing shot skipped past Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, the Serbian goalkeeper, and Serbian defender, Milos Veljkovic’s outstretched right arm.

It was the second of Richarlison’s brace in that opener. In the second round, Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1, and Richarlison added his third goal of the competition. Sadly, Brazil’s World Cup run came to an end in the quarterfinals after losing to Croatia on penalties.
