In the CAF Confederation Cup, Bendel Insurance showed their prowess by securing a win against Algerian side, ASO Chlef.
The match was held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin-City, Edo state.
Imade Osarenkhoe’s lone goal in the forty-second minute proved to be the difference maker.
Despite protests from the Algerians for a handball, the referee awarded the goal, giving Bendel Insurance a slight advantage as they head into the second leg in Algeria.
Enyimba’s Action-Packed Game Ends in Defeat
Enyimba had an action-packed game in the CAF Champions League, but unfortunately, it ended in defeat against Libyan side, Al Ahli Benghazi.
Playing away from home, Enyimba took the lead through Chijioke Mbaoma.
However, Al Ahli equalized just five minutes later. Enyimba showed great resilience, coming from behind twice to draw level with the home side. However, in the additional minutes of the ninety, Al Ahli took the lead, winning the game 4-3.
Enyimba will have a tough task ahead as they aim to turn the tables in the return leg in Nigeria on Sunday, August 27th.
Remo Stars Look to Bounce Back
Remo Stars faced a narrow defeat against Ghanaian side Madeama SC in the CAF Champions League. The Ghanaians secured a victory with a single goal.
However, Remo Stars have an opportunity to turn the game around in the next leg, which will be held at their home ground in Ogun-State next week Sunday.
The team is determined to put up a strong fight and secure a win in front of their home crowd.
