Erik ten Hag revealed the real reason behind Manchester United’s transfer of Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich on deadline day: injuries. Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay have been ruled out for at least three months, leading Ten Hag to take action in order to cover their absence.
The need for immediate reinforcement was answered with their agreement for Sabitzer to join the team until the end of the season.
According to Ten Hag, “we got this opportunity” indicative of the club’s desire to “bring a quality player in on deadline day”.
