Despite the sack of Gernot Rohr as Super Eagles head coach, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) remains undecided with regards to where the Eagles will camp ahead of the AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

Prior to Rohr’s sack, the Eagles were billed to begin camping on December 28 in Uyo but the federation is yet to decide on a camp for the team since the 68-year old was relieved of his duties few days ago.

An official of the team has revealed to The Punch that before the Super Eagles leaves for Garoua in Cameroon, they will first camp in Nigeria.

“We will start camping in Nigeria before we move to Garoua in Cameroon,” the official told PUNCH Sports Extra.

“No decision has been taken yet regarding where the team will camp in Nigeria. We will be playing on grass and it’s better for the team to also train on the same pitch before the tournament.

“Also, Garoua, where the Eagles will be based in Cameroon, is hot and humid, so, it is normal we prepare the team under these conditions before the tournament.”

The Eagles, who will be making their 19th appearance at the 33rd edition of the tournament, which holds from January 9 to February 6, have been drawn in Group D of the competition alongside Egypt, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan.
