Denmark U21 coach Lars Knudsen has advised Manchester United striker Chido Obi to focus on securing more playing time if he wants to keep progressing — www.isagoal.com reports.
According to Bold, Knudsen included the 17-year-old forward in his squad for the upcoming matches against Norway and Wales but stressed that consistent minutes are vital.
Obi featured eight times for Manchester United’s senior side last season, but his role has been reduced following the arrivals of Benjamin Šeško, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.
The teenage forward was left out of United’s opening two Premier League squads and has instead been sharpening his match fitness with the U21s in Premier League 2.
Knudsen explained, “Playing time is crucial, not only for performance but also for the development of young players. We just hope he finds a place where he can play.”
The Danish coach avoided commenting directly on whether Obi should leave Old Trafford but made it clear that his growth depends on regular involvement at a competitive level.
Obi, who can also represent Nigeria at international level, made his Denmark U21 debut in March and has remained part of the setup despite changes in management.
