Chelsea to Offer Cash Plus Players Deal For Enzo Fernandez Before Transfer Deadline

Chelsea are set to make a fresh offer for Enzo Fernandez as Benfica look to the future in the face of Chelsea’s pursuit.
The 21-year-old World Cup Winner has been the subject of a month long transfer saga, with reports now surfacing that Chelsea are preparing a new bid for him.
Roger Schmidt, the manager at Benfica, is confident that Fernandez will stay but if he does leave it would need to be with his €120 million release clause triggered.
Chelsea have already made seven signings and are said to be offering up Hakim Ziyech (permanent), David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos (both loan) as part of the package plus €100 million to get the deal done.
However, Benfica president Rui Costa wants to protect their own interests by increasing Fernandez’s release clause from €120 million to €150 million, as well as providing him with an additional €2 million bonus if he stays until the end of the season.
It remains unclear how much Chelsea are willing to invest in Fernandez amid speculation they may activate his release clause before Tuesday’s 11 pm deadline.
