According to former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie, Chelsea will give Mauricio Pochettino another year in charge amid rumors that he could lose his job.
Despite reaching the League Cup final, which they lost to Liverpool, Pochettino’s side currently languish in 11th position in the Premier League table.
The recent 3-2 victory over Newcastle United has eased some of the pressure on Pochettino, who has been rumored to be replaced by Todd Boehly in the summer due to the lack of progress.
However, McAvennie believes that Chelsea will give Pochettino more time to mold his side.
He stated, “I think Chelsea will give him next year. I think he will have the summer to sign more players. It must be so hard for him there.”
Despite Pochettino’s great reputation, he has not been setting the world on fire at Chelsea.
McAvennie suggests that there may be something not right at the club and that it must be hard for a manager to have so many players.
