Chelsea lost at home at Stamford Bridge as fellow London side Aston Villa visited them in the Premier League at the weekend.

The match was a welcome game for both teams after the International break. However, Chelsea could not live up to the billing as they suffered another setback defeat in the season.

Following Chelsea’s inability to make the most out of this game, we evaluate the three key questions as regards the game.

Can Chelsea recover from their predicament? The Blues are in big turmoil at the moment. There is a problem at the club following the managerial exit of former boss Graham Potter.

Who replaces Graham Potter?

With the exit of Graham Potter from the club as was announced early on, the next step is with regard to who replaces him at Chelsea.

Names like former Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann’s have cropped up in the news along with Brendan Rodgers who just got sacked at Leicester City following the Foxes’ poor (inconsistent) run of form this season.

But Bayern boss Julian reiterated as per reports from the press that he wouldn’t take an immediate job citing the need to rest till the end of the season.

The Blues could have an uphill task in getting a quality replacement any time soon.

Any hope for European Football for Chelsea? Chelsea may be out of the race for UEFA Champions League football but do they hope to make it to Europe next season?

Though they are not in a good position in the League table as per Champions League qualification it is still possible for them with a place in the Europa League.

While there is a bit of optimism for Chelsea no matter how it seems like more with the opportunity of winning the Champions League still alive for them this season.
