Barcelona are back in advanced talks to sign Colombian winger Luis Díaz this summer, IsaGoal can report, as the club shifts focus following Nico Williams’ decision to remain at Athletic Club.

Nico was previously Barcelona’s top target, but negotiations collapsed after he demanded firm registration guarantees—something the Catalan club couldn’t ensure.

While Díaz was always on their radar, his name resurfaced strongly after Nico extended his contract until 2035.

Mundo Deportivo reports that unlike Nico, Díaz is open to signing without requiring any registration guarantees or release clauses tied to non-registration.

His approach mirrors that of Joan Garcia and Dani Olmo, who also committed to Barça without extra conditions.

The 27-year-old Liverpool forward has made it clear he dreams of wearing the Barcelona shirt and is ready to ask for a transfer.

Talks between his representatives and the La Liga club have intensified in recent days, with sources describing “significant progress” in reaching a personal agreement.

However, negotiations with Liverpool may be delayed.

The club is still mourning the tragic loss of forward Diogo Jota, which could complicate their willingness to offload Díaz so soon.

Still, Díaz remains determined.

His agent is confident that Liverpool could sanction the move, especially after heavy investments in Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.

The club needs to generate revenue, and selling Díaz could help balance their books.

Barça see Díaz as the ideal reinforcement on the wing and hope to secure the move before their pre-season tour begins.
