Arsenal is making a strong push to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon this summer, despite the Portuguese club’s resistance to selling the striker.
Gyokeres, who joined Sporting from Coventry last summer, has been in impressive form, scoring 31 goals and providing 11 assists in just 34 games.
His performances have attracted interest from clubs across Europe, with Arsenal aiming to secure his services.
However, there are two obstacles in Arsenal’s pursuit of Gyokeres.
Firstly, Sporting has no intention of letting the Swedish striker leave, especially for a fee lower than the 100 million euros stipulated in his contract.
Secondly, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is also keen on signing Gyokeres as they look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
In addition to their interest in Gyokeres, Arsenal is also monitoring Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez.
Manchester United had previously shown interest in the left-back, but Arsenal now appears to be rivaling them for his signature.
One advantage Arsenal holds over Manchester United is the offer of Champions League football, which could sway Gutierrez’s decision.
Meanwhile, AC Milan is facing a potential threat from Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in their pursuit of 16-year-old midfielder Francesco Camarda.
Camarda, who is set to sign his first professional contract, has reportedly agreed in principle to a three-year deal with Milan.
However, formalizing the agreement is still pending.
If Milan fails to secure Camarda’s signature, Manchester City’s affiliation with Palermo, a club in the City Group, could pose a challenge.
