Arsenal Plan Trio Sale to Fund Rodrygo Transfer

Arsenal could sell Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Oleksandr Zinchenko to raise funds for an £86m swoop on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo this summer

Arsenal may need to sanction three major player exits to fund an £86m move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, according to reports emerging this weekend.

The Gunners are determined to sharpen their attack after inconsistency in front of goal cost them in key moments last season.

Mikel Arteta has already reinforced the squad with the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard — but attention now turns to elite-level firepower.

Rodrygo, 24, is high on Arsenal’s shortlist, and Madrid are willing to sell if their £86m valuation is met, according to UOL Esporte.

The Brazilian has seen his role at the Bernabéu diminish under new boss Xabi Alonso and could be ready for a fresh challenge.

To raise the funds, Arsenal are prepared to sell Gabriel Martinelli — valued at over £50m — with Bayern Munich and Saudi side Al-Nassr circling.

Martinelli, though, has shown reluctance to move to the Middle East, which could complicate a swift deal.

Leandro Trossard is also expected to leave this summer.

The 30-year-old Belgian winger, who has just one year left on his contract, could be sold for around £17m.

He’s attracting Saudi interest and recently switched agents to help push a deal through.

Finally, Oleksandr Zinchenko may be allowed to leave for a similar fee, with AC Milan reportedly in talks.

Combined, these three exits could raise the £84–£90m needed to sign Rodrygo — a player Arsenal believe could elevate their title chances in 2025/26.
