Ancelotti Faces Jail Time Over Tax Fraud

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, is set to stand trial on Wednesday for allegedly failing to declare income to Spain’s tax office.

The 65-year-old Italian is accused of defrauding Spain’s treasury out of over one million euros due to undeclared earnings from image rights between 2014 and 2015.

Prosecutors have called for a jail sentence of four years and nine months, although similar cases involving footballers have led to suspended sentences in the past.

Ancelotti, who took over as Real Madrid’s coach in 2013 and left in 2015, allegedly used a complicated system of shell companies to hide additional income, including real estate earnings.

Despite the accusations, Ancelotti, who has led some of the biggest clubs in Europe to success, has downplayed the situation, calling it an “old story” and expressing confidence that it will be resolved soon.

“I trust the legal system and I am not worried,” he said last week, though admitting the allegations were upsetting.

Recent years have seen Spain intensifying efforts to crack down on high-profile figures, including football stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, for tax fraud.

Ancelotti’s case comes as the country continues to tackle issues of financial misconduct among sports figures.
